ABOUT US

Northside High School's theatre department was founded in 2002 under the direction of Ms. Lisa Brinker (retired).  Producing four(4) shows a year ( GSHA One Act, The holiday show, Winter Caberet ( formally known as dinner theatre) and a Spring Musical, Northside theatre provides every student an oppurtunity to release their creative energy in a postive and encouraging ​enviorment.

Classes offered:

Drama I: Intro to theatre.  An overview of theatre for team building games, to tech workshops.  Works on developing the informed patron of theatre.

Drama II: Theatre History and monologue techniques. Those that want to work on the stage continue in this class and go into more depth about theatre history and acting techniques.

Drama III: The Play ( Class shows are produced in this class).  Best for students with talent, that can not participate in after school programs due to work or other commitments.  This class produces the play from pre- to post production. Students learn hands on the process of what it takes to produce a play.

Drama IV: Special topics.  This class is for the advanced student and varies based on the number of students and the overall ability of the class. Past topics have included: Costume Design, Set Design, Musical Theatre, Children's Theatre, and Shakespeare.
